Clean Up Ideas from The Kitchen Prep

Scrub a Dub Dub
Lemon and baking soda make a great multipurpose scrub to clean your cutting boards. Cut a lemon in half and dip the cut side into a bit of baking soda, scrub, then wipe down with a damp cloth. It’s a food-safe way to clean everything from counter tops and fixtures to refrigerator shelves.

Disposal Genius
Garbage disposals work hard and can quickly become sticky and smelly. Make your own fresh solutions by freezing white vinegar and citrus peels in an ice cube tray. Place a few pieces of citrus peel in each well, cover with vinegar and freeze until solid. When you’re ready to clean, toss a few cubes down the drain as you run the disposal. The ice helps to remove gunk from the blades, the vinegar kills smelly bacteria and the citrus peels leave a fresh scent.

This easy hack will help organize your food and help eliminate food waste. You’ll know how long everything has been in there and can eat it before it’s gone sour.
