This recipe may look spooky, but the taste is anything but frightening. Easy, flavorful and of course, the colors of Halloween make this delicious pasta the perfect dish to serve up to your family or friends. Here's how to get in the spirit:
1 package of squid ink spaghetti 1 pint of Zima® tomatoes, halved lengthwise 1/2 C unsalted butter 2-3 cloves of fresh garlic, diced 1/4 C fresh shaved parmesan, plus some for garnish 6 fresh basil leaves, thinly sliced Salt and pepper to taste
Add pasta to pot of boiling water and cook until al dente, approximately 7 minutes
While pasta is cooking, melt the butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat.
Once melted, add garlic and Zima®, tossing gently to coat. Simmer for 5 minutes
Add strained pasta, 1/4 cup of cheese and half of the basil to the sauce and lightly toss until evenly coated and cheese has melted
Plate and garnish with more fresh parmesan and basil
Tip: add a small amount of olive oil to boiling water before adding the pasta. This will help to prevent the noodles from sticking!
Tip: To add a little spice to your spooky, try this dish with crushed red pepper mixed in.
